Build up heat and strength moving through a variation of half sun salutations with this seven minute power yoga flow. Remember that if you have tight hamstrings, you can bend your knees as much as you need to in the forward folds while keeping your tailbone lifted toward the ceiling. Build heat with this five minute sun salutation warm up. We move through half sun salutations, slowly at first and then picking up speed. Then, high plank/low plank (chaturanga) to upward facing dog and downward facing dog are added in for Sun Salutation A.
As you move through Sun Salutation A, remember that you can always lower your knees down to the mat during high plank if you notice that your hips are sagging or if you have any lower back pain. Similarly, you can stick with cobra if up dog is not in your practice.
If you are looking for a little longer flow, we suggest starting with our "Yoga Warm Up" and continuing with this "Sun Salutation Warm Up."
