Sphinx pose opens the chest and front of the body. Did you know that it also is a great pose if you are wanting to bring back bends into your practice?! Here are our top tips for sphinx:
Lengthen your spine by working your tailbone down toward the mat and back toward your heels. This will help protect your back.
Your glutes should be firm but not clenched
Press the tops of your feet into the mat, keeping your legs engaged
One of our favorite things to do in sphinx is to gently lower our head toward the mat and rock it left and right - you’ll feel a nice stretch along the back of your neck!
