Sphinx
Sphinx pose opens the chest and front of the body. Did you know that it also is a great pose if you are wanting to bring backbends into your practice?! Here are our top tips for sphinx:
Bring your elbows under your shoulders and hands pressed onto the mat to support your upper body.
Keep your chin lifted and gaze forward to help open your chest.
Press the tops of your feet into the mat to keep your legs engaged. Your glutes should be firm but not clenched.
One of our favorite things to do in sphinx is to gently lower our head toward the mat and rock it left and right - you’ll feel a nice stretch along the back of your neck!
