Cat

Cat and cow are some of those poses that seem really straight forward but leave students wondering if they are really doing them right! Today’s tip focuses on cat.

  1. From table top and on an exhale, round your spine toward the ceiling. Your shoulder blades should move away from one another.

  2. Engage your core! Imagine that you are pulling your belly button toward your spine. You can also imagine trying to pull your mat between your knees and your hands (but don’t actually move your knees/hands).

  3. Allow your head to relax down without forcing your chin to your chest.

You can practice cat a few times to see if these tips help you, moving back to table top on each inhale.
